Abandoned
Canada doesn’t have the centuries old history as they do in other parts of the world, but it had its fair share of gold rushes and mining booms. A lot of small towns only existed for a few number of years, then the mine ran out and the rush was gone.
Today, some towns are better preserved than others, but I find it very fascinating to imagine how live was back then and how everything has a certain life span. Photographing abandoned places takes some research, long hikes and some luck.
Landscapes
Landscapes in the western part of Canada are formed by glaciers, rivers and the ocean. Mountain ranges, mirror-like lakes and wild rivers are the perfect background for shooting great pictures. Of course, cameras and natural light play an important part, but photographing landscapes is also in the eye of the beholder.
